Can't log in with firefox

Postby Johnny Bravo » Nov 9th, '06, 01:32

I've just recently started using Mozilla Firefox 2.0 as my primary browser as I'm finding it far quicker & better running than IE.
However for this site & this site only I can't log in with it.

Log in screen comes up, I enter the correct details but the page just goes back to the log in screen? I've made sure I'm not already logged in with IE & I've rebooted & tried again.

Very annoying as for this site alone I'm having to use IE, any ideas anyone???

Hmm, whenever I have login problems with anything I do this...(I can log in with FF just fine though).

1. Click tools--->clear private data now--->check cookies box--->clear data *don't clear passwords*. After that, go onto IE click tools--->internet options-->delete files--->check delete all offline content--->delete data then do the same for cookies.

Try to log in.

If that does not work.

Click on start--->run--->*exactly as I type the following, you are better off doing a copy/paste--->ipconfig /flushdns

That usually does the trick for me.

Excellent man, the first options did the job. Thanks for that.

While I'm at it I've had a problem with the IE7 toolbar which kept moving everything about, I'd place my ebay bar, links, google box etc exactly where I want them. Lock the toolbar but then a new window or closing & reopening the browser would restore things as they were, most annoying but your lil tip for logging in seems to have solved that.

Top Man. :D

Glad to be of service *Bows head* 8).

Glad it worked and hopefully it fixed the toolbar too.

And now that you use Firefox (good for you!) you can discover the joy of customization. Extensions!

Most useful ones: Adblock, IEtab, Mouse Gestures, Foxmarks, FlashGot, FEBE, Fasterfox, BugMeNot, Autohide, and that's just the beginning :P.

Urgh! Why would you want to disable JavaScript?!

The security benefits are marginal and in exchange you are knocking out a whole swathe of the web (e.g. I would imagine Gmail isn't very successful without JS!)
