Welcome to the forum. Thats an interesting way to start magic. Well it seems you have already started actively talkign to people here so all i have to say is...w00t.
Jennie is being very wise turning down job offers until she gets a bit of experience.
Actually I envy amateur magicians. In some ways they are in a better position than professionals. All they do is have fun with magic and not concern themselves with the sometimes stressful uncertainties of earning a living with it.
I have always said that once money enters the picture there is a tendency for the fun to disappear.
There is still some fun but not as much as there could be.
I envy Jenny. She has a lot of excitement ahead of her. Magic is intoxicating when you first start. I sigh and wish I was a beginner again.

TOJennie!
You seem offended, but I just picked this word up here.
Having English as my 3rd language I assumed this was a known term when I read it in the above mentioned link.
No, no offense! I literally had not heard the term before. I never really thought about it, I usually just introduce myself as an amature magician. Although I do tend to be accused of being a witch more often than I assume many of you.
Maybe it will become the same sort of thing that "Actor" now means both actors and actresses.
