Elastic Gymnastics - instant download from www.magicbox.uk.com

Price

£7.99

Ease of trick

Probably a 3 but the sleights are very simple and easily accessible to a beginner

(1=easy to do, 2=No sleights, but not so easy, 3=Some sleights used,
4=Advanced sleights used, 5=Suitable for experienced magicians only)

What they say

This is the ultimate rubber band routine!

By wearing a couple of elastic bands on your wrist you will be set to perform an amazing multi phase eye popping routine which has been in Graemes working repertoire for over five years! Included in the performance are penetrations restorations, vanishes and a whole lot more. To make learning this routine a dream each move has been broken down so that you will be performing it within hours of recieving the instant download instructions

What I say

If you watch the demo they have on the website you will see that there is nothing here particularly new or earth shattering. What this is however is a great little routine and introduction to elastic band magic.
Before buying this all I knew in the rubber band magic was Crazy man handcuffs (which is included here) and I was keen to have this trick in some sort of context as I found just performing CMH on it's own was quite quick and although very effective didn't quite fit in amongst my other tricks.
The download itself is quite well shot although there was an angle or two in the instructional video where I would have liked a better close up. The instruction is concise and easy to understand if run through a little too fast for my liking.
All the material here is easy to learn sleight wise and as part of the routine you get a very brief explaination to Banacheks Psychokenetic time.
For £7.99 you get a pretty nice band routine with a nice kicker ending, nothing particularly Fantastic but still great value for 7.99 and great for a beginner...pretty good for anyone really.

8 / 10 Good routine, nice price, easy to do

Had a look at the demo and it looks good (although I can't stop an image of Shirley Ghostman popping into my head every time he says something), I picked up most of the moves and as you say they are quite straightforward. A nice bit of inexpensive visual foolery.

The artist who does not rise, descends.

Just for curiosity's sake, does he credit Gregory Wilson for the final watch routine? It's Greg's version of Harlan's Travelling Cash which he put on his Off the Cuff video.

Take care, Ian
