Great stuff there. Definitely makes the coins across routine that I'm more familiar with much easier. LOL

It was a great performance, but a problem I find with it is that it's doing the same thing over and over.

It's like the, "Never show a trick twice" sort of problem. It's going too many times. A bit more variation in it would definitely help. Or other methods of teleporting the coins. :)

One of your palms looks a little un-natural, but no layman would notice. Maybe try using a bigger coin like a half dollar for when you need to palm. I do think that you need to mix up your methods of making the coins pass a bit. My suggestion is for the passage of the first coin, do a bottom steal (found in Bobo's Modern Coin Magic basic tecnique section). Your coin retentions were very well done. Now it might seem that I don't think this was a great coin routine, but it was the BEST one I have seen in a LONG time! Yes, there were a few technical flaws and maybe a better method could have been used to achive the effect, but you have the most important part of the effect down perfect: the presentation. You handle and present the effect as if you have been doing it since you were 3 years old. I hope you keep working on it and mix up your methods a little bit, because even right now, your performance is beautiful.

Keep it up.

Great handling, music went well, good patter, and I was expecting a coin matrix for some reason.

But yeah I agree you should vary the method, but still excellent. Haven't seen a proper coin routine in a while.

thanks for the tips guys..

I've been looking for half dollars all over the place.. but here in Holland their hard to get.. The biggest coin in Euro's is the 2 euro coin.. but it still doesnt match the size of a half dollar..

anyway.. if I take the time to put the coin in to classic palm, My hand will be pretty natural.. put at performance speed I can't take that much time;)

but im working on it..

Great looking trick, well done.

If you're in Holland, how about trying to get hold of some British £2 coins, they're a nice size. I try to use them for nearly all my coin stuff.

I like it, especially the presentation. Bigger coins would probably make some things easier as already mentioned. Personally, I'm not a big fan of counting out the remaining coins one by one but that might be a matter of personal taste.

I'll post another version of this that I got from Roth's Expert coin magic in another thread where I reveal all coins at the same time instead of one by one.

http://www.dynamitemagic.nl/ sells half dollar coins for € 1,59 each.
Enter the dutch version of the webshop and you can find them on page 7 of the 'Geld Trucs' (or money tricks for the people who use the english version of their site).

Also, if you live near Nijmegen, there is a stamp and coin collectors shop there. I've bought some dollar coins and old english coins there. The old english coins are the same size of dollar coins, only a bit thicker and a bit more weight. They were not that expensive, between 2 and 3,50 euro each, depending on the quality and collecting value of the coin. And that's not bad for a magic prop that will last a lifetime. http://www.muntenenpostzegels.nl/

Just going slightly off topic for a moment, can anyone tell me why 'old English' pennies are still used in magic? I know they're an appropriate size match for other coins but we haven't used those coins since we changed to decimal coinage on February 15th 1971.

Normal Half Dollars aren't magnetic, you might find 'special' versions on sale but they will be expensive.

€3 for an old penny? You can pick them up in collectable shops for about 50p each.
