I saw this and the topic on this over at the Cafe, and all I can say is WOW. It really does look like a great little gimmick. I may actually get one of these within the next couple of months. If I do then I'll be sure to post a review for you here.

Wow is right. The effect is amazing, absolutely stunning. But is it really worth all the money?

I usually write a structured review but I'm feeling lazy.

Worth it? Always the catch 22 question. Its worth what people will pay in return for what it can, or they think it can do for them...or they can do with it.

Kronos is a tool.

This is a VERY compact bit of electro-mechanics that will "do-the-do" to analogue quartz type watches...most of them anyway.

This is (at first play today) NOT pin point accuracy...this isn't a forcing tool nor a "prediction" watch such as "Perfect Time" or "Watch and Wear". I'm sure some will be able to use it in a similar way but that's not what it is about.

The real effect here is to take an ungaffed, spectators watch, tape over the stem, have it checked and found to be untampered with (and unable to be tampered with) and showing a certain time and within mere seconds of the performer touching it, placing face down on a spectators hand or merely covering its face... the time is seen to have genuinely changed on the watch.

How you present this "phenomenon" is up to the performer...PK, altered reality, a haunting etc. etc.

This isn't the holy grail nor perfect, it is reasonably expensive and it is a one trick pony...kind of. You could say that of an "imp pad" or a die box, or needle through arm, but what you do with it and what reactions you get are the measure of its value.

The product is very well made...a Rolls Royce of "garage style" manufacturing. It comes in a mini equipment case with a mini DVD (haven't watched it yet but I will update this when I do) the "Kronos" gimmick and even a roll of "Kronos" brand electrical tape, HAHAHAHAHA...fair enough.

I am looking forward to the DVD for handling tips and pointers but suspect I'll be coming up with my own "routines" (I'm basically lazy and a quite poor performer so that's MY excuse!). Time will tell but I suspect this is going to be a real "DOOZY" to pop it the 'ol shirt pocket on a night out.

I hear the price will be going up and I was "lucky" enough to get mine at an "introductory price". Field trials (for lack of a better term) have yet to happen and as I said I haven't gone through the DVD yet but first looks are promising and Kronos certainly is very stealthy and seems to pack a powerful effect...on watches anyway.

PS...I'm sure it could damage some watches if you are unlucky...DON'T use a Rolex...and I don't know the one it wouldn't work on but I suspect most quartz watches with 'old fashioned hour and minute hands are good fodder...can't offer any more assurances than that though...I ain't no scientist!

tom, when can we expect a review? i heard something about the noise that make this unpractical in some situation
