The magic menu - First five years

Postby Alakazam » Nov 19th, '06, 11:39

I'm looking for Jim Sisti's Magic Menu compilations, but can find the fist volume ("The Magic Menu - The first five years") anywhere...
I know it's out of print, but perhaps someone has an idea where they might still have a copy...?
I tried to enter it in the Trade section, but don't seem to have any access... :(

Trades were restricted to people who had 50 posts or more because people were trying to trade things which TM doesn't allow - such as DVDs and books.

Here's a link: http://www.alakazam.co.uk/acatalog/Books_38.html

Try www.magicbooksbypost.co.uk and enter Jim Sisti in tne search function. They're showing both volumes avaiable at the moment.

Thanks for the hints guys, I had checked several other sites, but all of them gave the out-of-stock or out-of-print message as soon as I wanted to order...

I just placed the order at Alakazam. Strange, I didn't even know this shop existed, and that with my username...

Which makes me wonder: there must be hundreds of e-shops out there. Which ones are your favourites and are worth checking regularly? Since I'm a book-fanatic, the mentioned magicbooksbypost will certainly get added to my list, but are there also others I should consider?

And if I keep going, I'll get to that 50 post boundary sometime and gain access to the trade section... :)

Why is it that books can't be traded? I can imagine someone owning some books s/he no longer uses, so why can't s/he trade them...??

Books and DVDs can't be traded because that way the creator looses out - unlike a prop, once you've read a book and absorbed the knowledge you no longer need the book to perform the material within.

Theoretically, ten books could make their way around hundreds of magicians over time - so instead of getting, say, the profits of one hundred book sales, he only receives a tenth of that. That's an extreme example, but the underlying point is the same.

It's all about supporting the creators :D.

Alakazam is the place I shop from most often.

And since I'm all for protecting and rewarding creativity, I fully support... :D
