Bycicle Vintage Series 1800

Postby I.D » Nov 4th, '06, 23:53

http://www.ellusionist.com/order/Bicycl ... s-1800.php

A new deck from Ellusionist available January 1st. Basically the whole deck is aged liek the 6 of spades in the gaff deck.

On one hand its obviously just another churned out deck desgign that ellusionist fans will loeve. I myself aren't that pysched about them.

However, they may make for some interesting storylines. If Ido eventually get a deck, I would use them to advised lay people that this deck of cards was passed to me by a magician a long time ago.. and that this deck has survived some of the worlds greatest magicians from as early as the 1800's!! Magically, they still have the properties to be useable though their look hasn't survived the centuries. Also that unlike most standard magic that you perform, previous magicians who owned it seem to have left their personality on the deck as sometimes it does things even I as a magician cannot explain.. like this.. watch.. then proceed into whatever tricks you like doing, acting surprised yourself with every result like you wasnt sure what was going to happen!!

Apart from that usage i really see know point in them

I don't know, they look awfully swanky, to me.

I can think of a few ideas to go with this kind of deck, but beyond that - they just look pretty cool.

Yes, E keeps churning these decks out - but to their credit, the quality is getting better with each new deck. Considering how much money they've obviously made with these specialty decks, it would be nice for them to make GOOD black tiger decks...

They look kind of weird. Who will actually buy those?

I can see it for a ridiculous(sp?) price.

And Dat you can't forget the "Mini Vintage Deck" "Stripper Vintage" "Svengali Vintage" etc etc

I forgot those

I have to say that they do look nice and I will most probably buy a deck (price dependant) as they will have some potentially interesting uses, particulalry when combined with some flash products.

I think that this will have a huge psychological flaw. That they will be nice high quality board with a brilliant durability.

Looks interesting actually... I just hope they have the same feel of Bicycle Masters but with the thickness of regular Bikes because I hate the thicker stock...

Bah Masters are just thicker bikes with a different ace of spades and then reboxed. Big deal lol. I can't tell the difference.
Ah don't forget the accompaning book to go with the deck.

Just because they don't fit in your Porper. :P
Actually heres a fact that may shock you, if you hate the thicker stock, I don't think your going to like Jerry's one bit. :o

lol. I won't carry Jerry's to perform with though! And yes, it won't fit in my porper.... :(

I was messing about with my masters the other day and I can honestly say they do feel better to handle. There doesn't feel like a need to break in the deck because it's already finished so well :D. They fan perfectly like they have been powdered! Just my cup of tea :P. Speaking of which, I could do with a nice hot cup of tea right now :D.

These cards look the biz! i1011i makes a good point about the high quality finish of the cards though. But they look cool...

I really like the Bicycle Masters Edition. I would switch to using them all the time if they were cheaper. They are pretty pricy don't you think?

If you use patter that talks about how this deck has been passed down from magician to magixian for decades and that after each magician touched it, a part of their magic and personality stays with the cards. You would also talk about how, since this is a magicians deck, that even though the ink on the cards have faded, the actual cards have not.

And then go onto a starting trick. Maybe when the gaff deck comes out we could do the trick that fooled houdini as a begining trick. I think this is similar to how I would use it.
