Where to get reeeaaallllyyy thick rope

Postby Dirty Davey » Nov 24th, '06, 13:25

Does anyone know where I can buy really thick rope in the UK. I've been around the ships chandler but all the new modern ropes are too thin. I've found some 1" diameter stuff which I could double up and use but am looking idealy for 2"-3" diameter.

Cheers

I did some searching and the thickest I could find (in England) is 50mm (that's about 2'') from an ebay store with ship supplies :

and do a search for 50mm

Good, really stout rope is hard to get hold of. I recommend beating the victim unconscious first and then just making-do with whatever is to hand.

Sorry; wrong forum.

The thickest magicians rope that I've found to date is sold at Top Secret Magic. It's not up to the 50mm stuff but it's dependant on what you want it for.

It's not really an optical illusion - it just looks like one!

I don't actually want it for magical purposes, I've got a bearded dragon and want to build some platforms and ropes in his tank to climb on. That's why the thickness is important, it needs to be thick enough for him to climb.
