Ellusionist Christmas Contest

Postby XTTX » Nov 22nd, '06, 22:45

Just got an email from Ellusionist.

The prize list has been kept under lock and key. Want to know the details?

There's only one thing we can tell you now: you will not believe your eyes.

Check out the Ellusionist main site and the forums this Friday, November 24
at 3:00pm PST for full details on the contest and prizes. Want a clue?

Day after Thanksgiving is the day
48 hours to a Friend by the bay
Bronze fields, black Hummers and dark, dark Ghosts
Wrists and wreaths and colors get Most
For who wins one wins two for the W
To see What never... was seen By anyone

Any ideas?

Edit: I think I have an idea...
Read the rest of the email and saw that they have two new tricks coming out:
Warning by Daniel Garcia
De'Ring by De'Vo

So I believe that's what the prize will be. Don't know about the 2nd - 4th line though. Hummer I assume is talking about the car; bronze fields is probably symbolic of something else.

They all have to do with cards, they are releasing "aged" cards which kind-of look bronze, black hummers might be that they are releasing Hummingbird Card in Black Tiger "format" even though that would be pointless considering how the trick is actually done and then the Ghost deck that might get a new darker finish to it...Just a few thoughts.

P.S. What are everyone's thoughts on "De'Ring by De'Vo"?

I had a look on the site the other day.

Maybe they are giving away Black Ghosts again. Friend has one, but I still prefer normal ghosts.

And the De'ring, I don't like De'vo's rings. Look kinda..weird. If those tricks can be done with any ring, then I think I might just order it

But after looking at the demo, and spinning my ring...are they just flourishes not tricks? Just seems to be putting on a ring really fast :?

I believe that the De'Ring is just instructional flourishes. I didn't even realize the line was referring to the cards even though I am familiar with the hummer card, ghost and BT decks XD.

D,T,F,B,H,G,W,M,W,W,B are all caps...

What-ever...

I'm too stupid to do one of these things.

Good luck to whoever gets it!

Well usually capitalization means symbolization so I don't think the capitalized letters by themselves mean anything specifically.

The top prize doesnt apply to us that live in the UK, or even outside of the US for that matter! I will still be sending a couple of orders to take advantage of the cheap shipping, and increasing my chance of winning one of the other prizes!

.....and maybe even sending a package to my girlfriend in the US in attempt to win the top prize.......

I was born with Multiple Personality Disorder. Luckily, they are all me, they just dont always get along...

Well since I don't know anybody interested in magic in my area, if I happen to win the grand prize (::roll:: of course not) then I'll invite someone from out of the US ^^.

Hmmm did anybody notice this
Odds of winning a prize 1: 20,077

I don't think these odds are possible.
In terms of the number of prizes being given out (77) then that means in a 2 month period they will be recieving 1,545,929 orders (1/77 = 20,077/x; x = 77*20077). Wow that's a lot of magicians. Hmmm, it could be that they produced 20,000 black bands or something like that
