Ninja Series (Ellusionist)

Postby Silverstar » Nov 27th, '06, 16:24

Hi I need some advice. I'm considering purchasing both Ninja 1 & 2 from ellusionist, however I have heard some mixed reviews. Some people state that ninja 2 should be bought first is far better then the first. Ninja 2 also seems to also revisit items from the ninja 1 although I dont know how indepth this is. Anyway does know if it is worth me skipping ninja 1 and just getting 2, I already own E's Crash Course dvd which has helped me as I'm fairly new to card magic.
Any suggestions please! Many Thanks

Buy neither!

Buy these books instead:

The Royal Road to Card Magic
Scarne on Card Tricks
Theo Annemanns - Card Magic

£20 or so, you'll learn a hundred times more :D

I the entire ellusionis set - street magic, inside magic, Ninja 1 & 2.. all good but..

Your much better off with Royal road.. and Card College ( I love Card College ) had it 4 days and I can now do both the reverse on handed fan and the witchita clip (due to the buckle taught in CC ) so muych better. The instructions in Card College are brilliant and very modern too..

I would fowith Card College.. pricey? yes.. worth it? Oh yes!!

I have purchased Ninja 2 and I am currently waiting for Ninja 1 to arrive. In Ninja 2, there are a few references back to N1, but only overveiws.

-Brad describes mistakes and common trip ups in the 'Invisible Pass'
-He helps with the 'dribble' or 'riffle' pass
-A quick mention of the one-handed pass

However, those three things that refer back to N1 only last 3 minutes, as he calls it, 'The 3 minute Ninja 1 Review,' so only a very brisk insight is there.

The DVD is mainly 2 sections, one containing slieghts (double lifts, one-handed fans and so on) and actual tricks like Triumph, Rossini card location and an ACR. Of course, like I would have thought will all of thier material, promotions of other DVDs and decks of cards (like the ones you see on thier site) are on the DVD.

On some tricks, like when Brad explains his Ambitious Card Routine, he states 'now get the card, you know like on Ninja 1,' and 'you should all have Ninja 1 by now' and this is whilst he is explaining the routine. But with a pause on the remote, you can sort of get to terms with the few movements that he expects that you should already know.

It is up to you whether you buy them or not, it depends on what you really want to know.
