The Naivety of Youth!!!

Postby Jordan C » Nov 26th, '06, 01:38

I visited a friend today who has a child called Jasmine who loves me doing magic for her - she's 8 yrs old!!! Well the last couple of times I've visited I've forgotten to take a trick with me so tonight I decided to take IN A FLASH by Jay Sankey.....

Needless to say it packed a big impact with her and she was blown away..... but then I said to her jokingly "but you've ruined my cards now doing that!"

She looked shocked and naturally asked "will they get better again?"

To which I had my perfect out!!!

"yes sweetheart, I'll just post them tomorrow to the magicians card hospital and I should have them back by tuesday all healed!!!"

"Awww" she said, "at least they'll be ok!!!"

God bless the naivety of youth...... such a blissful life!!!

One time I was working a restaurant, made a fistful of salt vanish......the 7 year old kid at the table looks at me blankly and says (in his most sincere/honest voice)....

"I don't know what I liked more, the salt disappearing, or the fact that you are able to make your thumb look like it is coming off and on!"

What do you say??????

I did a kids show once where a little lad sat at the front all through the performance and didn't move a muscle. He didn't smile, didn't laught, didn't shout out. He just sat clutching a half full packet of jelly babies. I noticed him and thought he couldn't be enjoying the show.

At the end, he was the last one to leave. He walked up to me, still unsmiling, and offered me a jelly baby. I took one and he left without saying a word. In my mind I like to thinkl he really enjoyed the show and giving me a jelly baby was his way of saying thanks. However he probably just felt sorry for me.

Aw, bless!

Reading it a little too fast, I was convinced that the title of this thread was "The Nativity Of Youth".

[Whisper]Well done for catching me out! I usually do two tricks at once to see if anybody can spot the secret one. You must have a very sharp eye. [/whisper]
