Struggling with an effect? Any tips (without giving too much away!) you'd like to share?

Good suggestion Tom. I think you all know what a fan of shortened cards I am :)

Here's another easy one, well within reach also...

As long as you know the top card of the stack, you can start with the stack on the bottom (or vice versa, depending on the effect).
Now, spread the cards from hand to hand, showing the speccy they're all different. You can even 'drop' a couple of cards from the non-stacked end to show that they're not in order (a-la-Lennart Green)... this is a REAL fooler.
Now, when you see your 'key' card, get a break beneath it as you close the deck. Now, simply cut the cards FACE UP at the break. Turn them over, and as you do, perform a simple thumb riffle. It really looks convincing, and requires no gaffs.

Of course, this 'thumb riffle turnover' will also work with the Si Stebbins stack, which can be cut as many times as you like. Cut once face up, riffle, turn. Then cut again, riffle, turn.

I think it's the sound...
