Well, what can i say. Im a sucker for hype and proud of it!

WARNING by Daniel Garcia
What They Say:

You cannot even begin to fathom it. Imagine a concept lost in the folds of time. Imagine a technique, redefined by Daniel Garcia, that could make your spectators believe that you are almost supernatural.

Imagine having the ability to breathe a cloud of real smoke from your mouth at a moment's notice.

This is a DVD that does not teach just one effect. You'll learn three. After the first three you will create your own.

In the first, discover a hidden technique for producing a slow cloud of smoke from your clenched fist-- it looks like your hand has turned into a real, functional PIPE. Eerie.

Open your hands. There is nothing there, and you have nothing to hide.

A card is selected from any normal deck. It is then lost in the center of the deck. The cards are slowly spread out-- face up-- to show that the spectator's card has vanished-- completely-- from the deck.

You pick up the card box with an empty hand and show that the selection has traveled all the way to the card box-- which as been in full view the entire time.

You offer to repeat the effect. A second card is selected and lost in the deck just as fair as the first. The second card, just as the first, is shown to have vanished. A card is pulled out of the box-- but it's not the right card. Something is wrong. Or so the spectators think...

You hold that indifferent card up towards your mouth, and sudenly a cloud of smoke appears from behind the card. It appears as if the back of the card is burning.

The card is slowly turned over to reveal that the name of the spectator's selection is now burned into the back of the other card.

The third effect. The final concept.

One card is selected by the spectator as you spread through the cards.

You light a match to bring the element of fire to your performance. The match is extinguished by your fingertips. Slowly, you open your mouth to release a huge cloud of smoke.

Your hands rise up towards your head.

With two fingers, you slowly pull back your bottom lip. Burned into the back of your lip is the name of the spectator's selected card. Visualize the impact on people.

Difficulty
(1=easy to do, 2=No sleights, but not so easy, 3=Some sleights used,
4=Advanced sleights used, 5=Suitable for experienced magicians only)

I would say a 2. I could rate it higher because it does come with a disclaimer and a legal health warning thing. It hurts a little a first, but you are told that it holds now real risk to your health. It also takes a little practice, but is not that hard to understand.

Review

In my opinion, this was worth every penny. Technically, it DOES require a gimmick, but this can be bought from pretty much any supermarket or little store. But as i have said, it does hurt a little first, but you get used to it and it poses no significant risk to your health. IT DOES NOT INVOLVE SMOKING CIGARETTES! Im sorry if that is exposure but i believe it needs to be said for those that are non-smokers that are interested in this effect

The teaching can not be faulted. Daniel Garcia is on form as per usual and gives you everything you need to know plus extra little tips that you might find useful in performing the effect.

The Download is of superb quality. I have not received the DVD yet but i can imagine that it can only be better.

The effect is easy to learn and easy to use, but, again, i am warning about the possible health warnings that are featured on the website, the Download, most likely the DVD, and this review (about 4 times!). It also involves a small gimmick that is light and easy to carry around

As for the 3 versions that are taught: thay are all very easy to do once you know the basic principle. The first is the easiest and can be done anytime. The second involves an easy sleight. The third involves some preparation. But they are still all easy to perform.

Overall

How can i rate this..... TM's out of 5.....4.5!!

TMTMTMTMTM

Easy to perform, easy to learn, but with a tiny pain aspect and small health warnings. They can be ignored unless you perform this effect about 400 times a day.

Nice review ricky. This is quite temptimg acutally, seeing as there is an instant download and all (damn those!).

I don't really have the money at the moment but its going down on my 'list' :)

Also, are there any tricks/routines included, or is it just how to do it?

Hmn I'm interested in this, almost like a poor man's ultra smoke.

I have a vauge idea how it is done, if its the same principle in his "Next Notes", then I'm not really that interested in it.

But it seems like a good product, maybe I'll add it to my ever longing list. :P

trickyricky nice review

but I have a question

In the preview video Daniel Gracia says:
What if there would be a utility device that allowes you to produce somke anywhere, out of your mouth , out of your hands ...

Does it mean you can prodcue somke at your hands when they are away from your mouth???
Do you reckon that it would be a good idea to buy it for coin magic?????

The smoke can only come out of your mouth.
I'd buy this but I'm 14. Meh, I'll probably still get it anyway :D

Nice review, and its good to see a 9/10!

Wow. I purchased the download last night, and I must say - I'm impressed. This is a simple concept, and - in all honesty, brilliant. I had never heard of this concept, and am quite amazed at how it works. It's very simple, almost impromptu! For a utility effect, I highly recommend it!

Man. I'm off to the store, now! Gotta test this one out!

Can I ask you guys if any of the effect uses the same principle as in Garcias 'Next Notes'?

I was looking at this on E and come accross this on the main page...

Method:

The method is so diabolical. Danny really teaches this with some depth, and after his teaching, you will know this in and out like the back of your hand. You can begin practicing as soon as you get the DVD, all you need are matches. The first time is very odd feeling, but after the third time or so, your body naturally adapts and it actually starts to feel more comfortable.

isnt that close to exposure? or just giving people enought information to burn themself...

I know exactly how this works, we used to do this in physics...

1 Get a small cube of dry ice (any good physics lab has them)
2 Put it in a tiny little polybag
3 Tuck it in the corner of your mouth
4 When you need smoke, bite down

It hurts a little at first, but you get a good amount of 'misty' smoke.

It's fab!

Note: I'm only joking. I also have no idea how this is done, but I must say, the effects performed look fab, and I think it may go on my list, as I've just given up smoking and I've a great idea for a routine with this which involves no-smoking nicotine patches ;)

I agree it looks great :) my only worry is that you need to setup just before and when your set to smoke can you talk etc! or is it like you mime upto the point of producing the smoke!
