Heart sponges

Postby Kevin Cann » Dec 4th, '06, 17:51

Does anyone know where I can get heart shaped sponge 'balls' in the UK ?

Preferably something like Colombini's Heart to Heart except I want 4x 1.5" hearts & 1 large heart.

I've tried various Google searches but only get 1 hit in Orlando (that's not the UK !)

Would Pips-a-Poppin' be of any use to you? Two lots of each suit, plus a jumbo heart.

You can also buy sponge pips (one of each suit) separately, so get two lots of those and you'd have enough.

One note of caution if you do that. I've bought sponge pips on two separate occasions. The first set matched Pips-a-Poppin and the second batch did not. It might therefore be cheaper in the long term to get two lots of Pips-a-Poppin.

World of Magic sell both:

Now you're asking!

My set was bought a few years ago and is indeed supersoft (well, they feel that way to me). The 'regular' pips are the same as the ones in that link I posted above. I'd say between 1 1/2 inches to 2 inches long. The big heart is maybe four inches wide and about as long. I haven't measured it; I'm just going from memory.
