Magician Impossible

Did you see Magician Impossible on ITV yesterday? What did you think of it? The magician, Joe, went around performing magic on a boat to the passengers and non-celebrities. At the end he caught a bullet in his hand, (fired from a gun).
I thought the show was alright, quite interesting, but not great. His magic was a bit predictable and he had a really annoying voice.
Nevertheless, i'll probably watch it next week.

I watched and recorded it but wasn't all that impressed. Most of the tricks were OK but Rinky Dinky - again - was so obvious. The levitation thing suffered due to the cut away shot and you just know he was busy hooking up the wires or whatever whist the 'celebs' walked across the deck. The 'Table of Death' thing has been done so many times before on TV but the bullet catch seemed a rather pointless exercise due to Derren Brown's far superior programme involving a bullet. The card routines were good enough and it was nice to see Bill in Lemon - we like lemons here!

The celebs were a strange choice - Linda Barker never stopped talking and spoiled the finale by refusing to take the bullet as a souvenir, James Hewitt has already been branded a cad in the first degree and came across as a total plonker devoid of any personality and Louise seemed to be in the shadows of everything and everyone else.

Having said all that, it was still better than many other programmes so I’ll keep the recording and watch it!

I have to agree I'm afraid, I was looking forward to it as well.
You could see the breaks in the AC routine, the ring well it has been said and Sue Barking mad, well again, enough said, lol.
The bullet thing, yeah I agree. Derrens act was master class stuff, it was still a trick but it didn't feel like it at all as most of the show was a very interesting convincer in effect.

Ahhhh Louise my lovely :)

In the blokes favour is that he is a huge stage man, not really a close up lover.
I still enjoyed it though, I love watching a bit of magic.

Agreed... the show was something I was anticipating... however, upon watching the recording I'd made, I was slightly disappointed with it.

Maybe it's just because I know how it's all done, and I've seen it all done before - but better.

But as Bababoom said, I love to see magic on TV, so I won't go any deeper into badmouthing this one...

When he did the linking finger rings it looked very queer as he was fumbling about in his hands which in my opinion ruined the trick

My thoughts were, he might as well of exposed the himberring and had done with it. This was not something i will be bothered missing. Maybe he should stick to silent stuff, and get in a voice over.
