Just because something is hard does not make it hardcore. Personally I think this whole hardcore thing is nuts. Everything that comes out is called hardcore and you have these punk kids refusing a DL as it is not "Hardcore".

Everything is hard when you don;t know how it's done! I don;t think that this has been said in the contect that I think you mean. However, I totally agree with everything else that's been said in the past two posts.

Ok, this thread is a long time ago but I just got this DVD today. Watched it now and found myself saying "Hmmmm..." along the way.
Quite how the man can call the Card to Envelope and Ring To Evelope "impromptu" is seriously beyond me.
Also, I was disappointed with the signed aces to pocket. That was the trick I was most excited about when waiting for the DVD.
During the demo vid he says that everything is easy to make and you'll have most of it lying around the house.

Well I'm afraid that I don't have a gimmicked jacket lying around the house, nor would it be particularly easy for me to make... and as a hobbyist looking to go pro, I don't actually own enough jackets to justify gimmicking one.

The DVD is good, don't get me wrong. I was just hope for something slightly more in the way of impromptu tricks, seeing as only one of them on the DVD is what i'd really classify as impromptu. Ah well. Can't win 'em all eh.

Guess I'll be making a few visits to local shops to get sme of these ready soon!

Try your local charity shop they often have smart jackets for a few pounds.

As its been said - the business info provided is very valuable. He's got a great teaching style and couple of nice gags.

As for the tricks themselves, I did not find them overly impressive. I thought his 1st dvd was better for this.

On a more personal note - I really hate Martin's Style: "Look at this! This is a really cooool trick!! Best trick you'll ever see" These nerdy magician types really get to me.

There's no denying that Martin is a very popular magician and makes the top corporate gigs with a great deal of frequency.

I think that the point of thes DVD's is to take what works best for you and to discard the rest. As always, there is an assumption that if you use one or two of the tricks BUT you will use your own adaptation rather than do a straight lift of a routine from the DVD. He's merely showing commercial tricks that he's found to work best for him.

I think that anyone wishing to go Pro would need to ralise this and not expect a complete and scripted routine.

O dp agree that some of what he's reaching doe require advance set up but to the spec it looks impromptu. This is perhaps his meaning.
