I love all the potential effects that this device could do , but I do have a couple of serious reservations.
1) Could it permanently damage a very expensive watch, Rolex etc.?
2) More importantly what if the spectator you approach to entertain has a pacemaker fitted? The consequences of that sould literally be lethal !!

1) Perhaps, but only in VERY close proximity. I don't condone the Monster's used for watch stopping in any literature supplied—in fact I show a method with some of the other items enclosed for stopping watches.

2) Again, you would literally need to have the magnet at least 5 or 6 inches from the pacemaker to yield a result. However—I consulted my GP, who in turn consulted a specialist, who reliably informs me that a pacemaker is NOT switched off by a magnet...

A pacemaker contains a magnetically operated switch which changes the mode the pacemaker operates in. It doesn't stop it. The switch is MEANT to be operated by magnet, as this allows doctors to over-ride the pacemaker without opening the patient's chest. Once the magnet is moved away, the pacemaker reverts to its original programming mode.

In his opinion, nothing happens. In fact, even if it did, no SERIOUS damage can be caused, as the pacemaker is DESIGNED to be switched by a magnet.

Ask your own GP to confirm this if you are skeptical about performing with magnets.

Note Not EVERYTHING supplied with the Monster kit involves the Bertha. There's other effects with the other supplied items too.

Sounds like a nice little bundle. I already have a Bat and maybe the effects are too similar. Still tempted though...
Is there a danger of it wiping sensitive things like credit cards?
These sort of gimmicks make me worry about that when I'm carrying them about. It's never happened but if this is as strong as it sounds it could be possible.

i have carried my bertha around lots and other than getting stuck to things i have not had problems wiht my Oyster card or Credit cards.

it did make my old TV go funny from about 10ft. but i have a hd lcd tv now and no problems at all.

though i wouldn't leave it near my mp3 player or computer.

listen, anything that can make a coin flip into the air from 4-5" away has to be a good thing.

i took my bertha to work today to mess with the kids heads (work in a school)

got stuck to the train door on the way home...

that was not fun.

tbh, i don't think things are going to get too messed up other than actually getting stuck to things...

the classic still is the off licence...

but thats another story.

the monster was attached to a screw on the side of the table as i had been messing around wiht it.

glass gets too close, knives get attracted.

glass in many peices on the floor.

girlfriend upset.

Can someone just clear something up for me. This may seem like a fairly simple and stupid question but its got me a tad confused. Are the raven and the monster bertha that different in the effects that they can create? Just wondering because I'm am currently wondering whether to buy a monster bertha, a raven or both. Any advice please? :?

Thanks in advance

Sam :)

I know it is alot more powerful but i mean in the effects that can be done with the two. Are they similar or does one excel over the other? :?

Cheers :)

The raven can be used for vanishes and coin changes.. thats it

The Bertha can be used for plenty.. think mentalism/voodoo type effects.. move bread across a dinner table.. make matches stand up in someones hand.. stop someones watch...

The 2 are VERY different in terms of effects. I have both and use them both.. use only raven for vanishes.. bertha for making me look like a greek god!

I dont know but I wouldnt try it.. it would probably smash your teeth in im serious!!

If you have a pk ring.. keep it away!! And keep it away from the the smaller m******s that come with it.. Ive been so careful but one mistake and SMASH.. they would be no more than silver filings on my laminate flooring!!

Although it seems like a really amazing bit of kit I'm really put off by the fact it seems like more of weapon than a magic trick. Since pretty much everything in my bedroom is mad eof some sort of metal or is electronic it could cause huge problems. Is there a weaker version available, or maybe a smaller one :?

Cheers

my room is 10ft by 14ft. i have a large desk with a 30" LCD tv, 20" LCD monitor, computer, shelves and a double bed.

i dont have room to swing a cat.

only problems i have had with the berta's are getting stuck to things OUTSIDE the house.

in the house (apart from the glass incident) its all been fine.

I keep my Bertha directly under my PC hard drive.. because Im a rebel 8) Seriously... keep it 2ft away from anythinng metal... ur sweet as chocolate

Tone is right.. the bertha only goes pscho when ur OUTSIDE.. most often when a fit girl is sharking you and you get stuck to a chair in KFC!!!

But when they ask for your number afterwards it kind of makes up for the embarassment

Do NOT get a smaller one when you can get one that ROCKS
