Magnetic Coins

Postby Sir_Digby_Chicken_Ceaser » Dec 6th, '06, 20:59

Hey all,

I was just windering if anyone had any ideas where i could buy a set of magnetic british coins? I know there are some steel centred coins floating about but i can't find them for the life of me.

Thanks

Sam :)

Recently minted copper coins are already suitable - most online stores do gaffed 10p and 50p coins but they cost quite a bit.

quite a bit of an understatement.. you can buy a 50p for £25!!! :?

Sometimes on ebay mate.. you can pick up a steel core £1 for £7 which is reasonable..until you spend it one night at the kebab shop because your wasted !!

Suggestion...

Depending on what the coin is being used for, you can SHIM or ADD A THIN MAGNET to the underside of most UK coins with a bit of superglue or epoxy resin.

This way, they are fine if you ONLY SHOW ONE SIDE... now, this sounds like a massive limitation, but it really isn't at all—depending how you handle the effect.

I've never done it yet but have thought about getting some of those really small rare earth magnets for sticking to the reverse of coins, cards and all sorts. with the right handling you should be able to get away with them easily.

I suppose a paddle move type of handling.. I dont think people would pay THAT mcuh attention to heads and tails .. is not like you would call out the two sides of the coin anyway.. they would just subconsciously see two sides and thats it..

but if you wanted them to examine it.. we need MOGS secret

edit :  or just remove the neo and hand it back!!

Cheers
