Do I need a post count or something before I can read and or comment on essays?

If I'm bared because you don't think I'm a magician then I just have to LOL

Take care.

Access to the restricted area will be granted to members who have shown a basic knowledge of magic together with quality contributions

In a nutshell.

seige wrote:I'm not going to say too much here, but I can tell you how NOT to get access...

1: Forget how many posts you've got. Even 1000 posts will not necessarily grant you access

2: The decision is NOT automated - it is discretionarily granted by a moderator

3: You're shooting yourself in the foot by blatantly ASKING how an effect is done

4: You're barking up the wrong tree if you've read that 50 posts = instant access

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I'm sure you'll appreciate this!

OK, here's some tips on getting IN...

1: Don't be a pain in the @rse
2: Don't post countless meaningless messages
3: Try and write intelligent, concise reviews and replies. Show a general knowledge of magic.
4: Be aware that this is NOT a 'spoiler' forum where you'll find people giving away magical secrets...

In a bigger nutshell.

I've always wondered though why the Essays are in the restricted section? Some of them could be quite useful for beginners and there's nothing explicity revealed.

Hmm...:?:.

That's a valid point...... and newbies who are serious would be able to demonstrate some knowledge by writing an essay too if they were allowed access......

Perhaps a lower post count entry requirement for Essays..... say 25 valid posts (non spam posts).

An enterprising newbie could just send his essay to the mods for evaluation. The local thought police could then assess it for plagiarism

I thank you all for your replies but I don't know what they have to do with me?

I'm not a newbie. Nor do I care much for the SECRETS of magic. Like I said when I joined I have prob forgotten more magic than is known on this site.

I'm simply finding it hard to keep responding to the same posts and thought that the essays might be interesting.

Anywho No big deal when I get bored I'll move on.

I guess we should take that as a humourous comment more than anything else.
