Another thing into bottle penetration

Postby bronz » Jul 13th, '06, 08:46

It seems as thought the world and his dog has a coin into can/bottle trick nowadays. I thought I'd add mine for posterity.

A couple of things to note, the video is short and patterless because the only decent recording device I have is my phone and it's very short on memory so I had to be quick. Also it's a beer lid rather than a coin, the reason being that 1 - I fancied a bit of a change, and 2 - It was on the window sill at the time.

Tell me what you think, I do this now and again as and when I feel like it really. It's not great I know but hey....

Looked good to me!!! :D

I'm actually quite confused on that one. I normally figure out most videos, but cannot get my head around that one.

Ha! That's one person at least that I've fooled then. It does get good reactions actually, watch the video a bit closer there's a couple of give aways in there. It's certainly quite unconventional though.

i belive that I know how it is done - though I could be wrong - either way it is very clever, and also, quite visual.

Just a question on my suspitions - is it impromptu/gimmicked/examinable?

cheers - i loved it :D

Love

Perfelti - Sorry that's probably due to my phone taking videos in some kind of quicktime format. Try downloading quicktime and looking again, it should work.

Blapsing Beard - Don't worry mate, your impromtu crown isn't being threatened any time soon! Here's a run down of the pros and cons:

Pros - Only uses one normal bottle and any small object.
- Nice and visual.
- Can be done with some liquid still in the bottle.

Cons - Quite tricky to get the hang of.
- You have to prepare the bottle first, although the prep only takes a minute by yourself.
- The bottle isn't examinable, you can display it openly but don't hand it over. To get the coin out you have to cut the bottle open.

There you have it. Some people on this board already know the method cos I've discussed it with them. I would post it but I won't because the trick is very similar in method, as far as I know, to Piercing Thru and to reveal my method would reveal that one. And that's a marketed trick that some poor guy's trying to make a living off so I can't reveal it.

Actually it's nothing like the Abyss in terms of method but it does look quite similar. A user video of Abyss would be nice though, I've not seen a complete demonstration of it.

Well if this resurgence in interest continues I might even put in on youtube. I'd completely forgotten about this clip, it was born out of a brief but intense 'coin in bottle' obsession that I had (along with several other members of this board it seems) and I've not used the effect since.n Thanks for the kind replies though.

I'd like to see a signed coin materialise inside a sealed tin of cocoa, right in the middle and needing to be dug out.

No cocoa tin to hand tomo, would be good though. The closest I can get is signed coin to biscuit jar. Uploading right now......

not a fan of sigs, so I won't bother adding o..... oh
