Recently I've had a lot of people requesting me to add them to my MSN list. I'm sure many are genuine people from this site who want to talk but I've got no way to differentiate them from the other psychos and wierdos that I get trying to talk to me.

Can I just ask that anyone who wants to add me to MSN, please just drop me a PM first so that I know who you are, otherwise I'll just reject you.

Some of you have PMed me first and a couple I've worked out from the addresses, but for anyone else, a PM would be appreciated.

Thanks

you mean not all the people on here are wierdos?

that's dissapointing...thats one of the reasons why i joined...

i can't think why you'd get a sudden influx on msn since being on here

There's been a bit of this this year. I don't use MSN myself, but I suspect there are a lot of sleazes out there. Remember, you don't have to put up with anything that you don't like. If it comes form a TM user, tell a mod and they'll Have Words.

I've not had any problems from anyone on here either on MSN or the forum (only one person has over stepped the line and that's been dealt with) and really don't mind talking to people from on here. The problem is that I don't know who's wanting to chat because they're a TM member and who's just finding my address from somewhere and is trying it on.

well, if you get any freaks bothering you, ask for their e-mail addresses and post them on here and we can abuse them thoroughly...name and shame!

i've never used the thing, same with myspace, i find that far too scarey...

How come I have never had an attractive female pursuing me?

Lifes not fair.

Obviously I dont want a dangerous psycho lady stalking me but I wouldn't complain having....say Angelina Jolie bugging me by email, wanting to chat to me, sending inappropriate photos of herself in various poses......

I feel I should point out that in the last 12 months, at least three other members of TM have stopped posting here because of unacceptable PMs emails etc. Those three were all female, well skilled in magic and contributing solidly to the increasing store of knowledge and opinion here.

I'd hate to think that any genuine members of TM would harass someone just because of their gender but I'm realistic enough to know that it can happen and that perhaps transitory newcomers may also be doing this sort of thing. Not too long ago we had to deal with unacceptable messages sent to one of the younger members which was a most unsavoury episode.

If anyone, male or female, old or young receives worrying or unacceptable PMs via TalkMagic then would they please forward the entire message on to any of the Moderators as soon as possible? We take this situation seriously and will do what we can to prevent it happening again from that person.

Everybody add me! :D

I'm more than happy to tell somebody to '#@*$&^5$^ the hell off' but will be extremely pleasant to the friendlier people of TM, which is surely about 98% :) [The initials ML will always scare me  ]

Think of the word 'Delude' but where the 'e's are spelt with '3's then add a hotmail.com to the end.

[Put like this so i don't get stupid internet spam  ]

Honestly... I find it heroically childish and quite offputting the fact that a female presence on the board should be treated any differently to a male.

The amount of slack-jawed panting testosterone satchels on this board is increasing... and quite frankly, I'm not surprised that our fairer sexed magish are running away... some of the comments/threads surrounding our latest lady of magic are quite sickening.

As I said in another post, have these people never seen a woman before?

If there's any hassle from anyone from this forum via MSN or any other kind of private message, please report to a mod immediately.

And guys—if you're looking to push building-site innuendo at the fairer sex, please don't do it on here. It's getting extremely tedious.

I don't mind the light hearted joking that's been on some of the threads. I know it's all said in fun and I can give as good as I get most of the time. Only one person has managed to offend me and that's been dealt with.

The only reason that I started this thread was that I've always got people finding my MSN address from somewhere and trying to add me. These guys are usually just slimes who I've learnt to just reject to save hassle. The problem I've been having is that I don't know who're the slimes and who're TM members.

Slighty diffirent to your problem Lady of Mystery but I had a few people droping me a MSN like this "hi from talk magic want to trade tricks"

I am master of misdirection, look over there.

We are not falling out young Welshy, we are debating, I think farlsy is an idiot he thinks I am one. We are just talking about who is the bigger idiot.
