PMed you.

im not sure what 'suffling' is  however..

I suggest you get focused and get a pack of cards in your hand while you read and disect it slowly.. and break it down..

If your not focused surely that means theres a lack of interest.. :?

I.D was only pointing out that you had a spelling mistake. It gets VERY annoying to see people have many punctuation, grammer and/or vocabulary mistakes in one post. It really isn't hard to double check your posts before you click submit.

Anyways, back on topic. You've only had the book for one day. Try to digest the information more as I.D has said and try to visualise the description of the move. It really does NOT help having a TV on while practicing it especially when you're only just beginning. After a while, it's fine but you're only just beginning. It's the same principle for doing homework!

Don't worry about spelling mistakes or typos, you can't be as bad as me :D

You've just got to work on these things, take it one step at a time. Sit down with the book and cards and just work through it slowly. It took me weeks of practice to get my card manipulation right when I started out.

Don't stop practising in front of the television. Thats my main practice time. If you have to watch the screen you are not looking at your hands. Yes, you will drop the cards and yes, sometimes when you do look the wrong carsd will be on top but eventually you will be able to do the basics blind and the basics are what all of the rest is built on.

You will get the same advice any time you come on this site. Practice. Then Practice again, and again, and again..............................

yeah, its the hard truth im afraid, practice...and i found learning the pass whilst watching tv very useful, stopped me looking down at my hands while i did it...

From a personal viewpoint, I only say you're on the road to mastering a sleight when the sleight can be performed without looking at your own hands.

Any kind of body language or attention which is unduly paid to the sleight in a way which makes it look like you're contorted or unnatural is going to draw the spectator to that point.

Almost like changing gear in a car—next time you're driving, just take 2 minutes to realised you don't CONSCIOUSLY look at the gearknob, or even make any thoughts about using the clutch pedal. But both are done in synchronisity which is almost instinctual. Almost like breathing.

Of course, that last metaphor is wasted on anyone who doesn't drive or who uses an auto gearbox ;)

Jamesh's first post said that you found it hard to understand! That's why he shouldn't practice in front of the television yet. Once he's practiced enough and when he's got the move down, there's no problem practicing with the TV on.
