there's a similar thing in an old tales of the unexpected too, about a tatooist whose murdered, the guy that kills him gets scratched by his tattoo-ing nib in the fracas and later on, it starts to slowly spread across his body....

I remember the Tales of the Unexpected in which Derek Jacobi has a famous artist tattoo on his back, Skin I think it was called. Don't remember the one with the tattoo nib scratch. Sounds good though.
