One advantage of springing from the thumb is that you get a much longer spring. It looks quite spectacular when you have mastered it.

In what sense longer? Distance or time?

Well chaps, I'm still having problems with the OH Lift. It's really clunky.

If I'm holding with my ring finger, I end up grabbing a few extra from the main body.

If I use more tip, I sometimes miss.

If I loosen my grip to make more room, I drop cards.

It's a shambles.

Would it be suitable to create a video of me so you can have a look?

I must admit that what you talk about in this tread is completely lost on me.
I have no idea, except that it somehow involves shuffeling the cards. What is the shuffle supposed to achieve? Is it a control or is it a flourish you are talking about....

It's a shuffle that can be used to maintain the top stock, and also as a force. It's not at all flourishy - it looks as if you're simply doing a normal, full, overhand shuffle. Don't think any more can be said without it being exposure. It's in the RRTCM, in the Overhand Shuffles 2 chapter.

That would possibly be a bit YouTube Exposure-like, though, I'd imagine. I'd think that PMing it to individuals who might be able to help might be a better option.

After making my little movie, which was too dark to really be useful, it occured to me that there was nothing wrong with my shuffle at all. I can make bigger gaps and more angular holds and it's just fine and dandy.

Thanks for your tips though, they helped no end.
