Last night i think I created a new card trick but I am not to sure. please can someone tell me if they have seen anything like this before because I have not.

Effect: The magician shows the spectater 4 red cards from his deck. He then deals them one at a time onto the table. he then picks up the packet and asks "did you see that switch?". when the spectator says "no" the magicain shows the 4 cards to be four 5 of clubs. The spectator can then look at the cards and they are all the 5 of clubs.

if you know it please tell me. This effect is done with a normal deck of cards, a small extra. Which I'm not going to mention here.

What you've got here isn't so much of a trick, more of an elaboration on a sleight.

If you could formulate this into a routine, with your own specific patter and storyline, then this would certainly be more unique and then would indeed be your own trick.

The method you describe can be found in lots of other effects - such as Ace divinations, etc. But as with all these tricks, what you have here is a building block to form a routine.

Most magic methods and sleights mean nothing if just performed on their own. It's the meat and flesh that surrounds the bare bones that makes something individual.
