Are you a Left or right handed cardian?

Some magicians who otherwise are righthanded might still be lefthanded (opposite handed) than the majority when it comes to card magic. Thus if a lefthanded overhand shuffle he/she holds the pack in the right hand. If a opposite handed card magician spead out the cards as "normal handed magicians" only blank upper right corners of the playing cards will show.

For most effects there is no problem for "lefthanded" to make natural adjustments to fit the situation, however I find two situations where I have to "switch hand".

a) Spectator peak a card (since I hold the deck in right hand - instead of the usual left hand - the normal peek does not work since playing cards are printed with their values in the upper left corner).

b) I need to peek a card.

On the other hand my favirite D/L would not work had I been normal handed. The reason being that being left handed I can grap the cards to be turned over in the upper left corner (with my left hand) and use the base of my right thumb to keep them square. When they are turned over the upper right corner touch the base of my thumb and lover left corner of the card is at the tip of my left thomb. The cards being slightly bend in emphazise the singularity. Had I been normal handed this display would not be as good as the two corners displaying the value of the cards will be slightly hidden.

Thus to be opposite handed in card magic also have some bennefits. Any views on this? (ps. plaese do not ask me to explain the D/L in more details since it really have to be seen and not explained).

Magic is slight of mind!

I think this is called the bubble peek (someone correct me if I'm wrong :? ) and I too have had problems with this being a leftie

One good thing about being a leftie though is when it comes to looking at instructional piccies or watching DVD's - it's like looking at yourself in a mirror. All you need to do is mirror the actions that you see - bit of a c*** (not the best) explanation, so I hope u catch my drift

QUESTION:
If we can sue McDonalds for making us fat and cigarette companies for giving us cancer; why can't we sue Smirnoff for all the ugly gits we've sh*gged ??

i have wierd hands.
i right with my right hand...and do everything with my right hand. except for cards. and even when it comes to cards it's wierd. i left hand deal, left hand shuffle. but one handed cuts are more suitable in my right hand. i hold my deck in my right hand...and when it comes to do some flourishes.. i can't because my right hand is taken. very strange lol.

Im the most confusin person ever im ambedextrous so i do some things with my left and some things with my right, alot of my card moves are quite varied so i have to swap hands to do certain sleights in a routine, so on one hand it can confuse the spectator more but on the other hand ( see my terrible joke ive added here) it doesnt make every move as smooth as it should be.

im a little cack handed...im right handed, but eat left handed...

i also perform certain sleights kinda back to front when i first learn them too...my pass was completely upside down when i first learnt it...i have to make little bullet point lists to learn things properly, with pointers for which hand i should use...

go figure!
