Richiardi the most perfected show I ever saw.

The very first show I saw was at the felt forum in NYC titled the weirdest show on earth.

Their was a group of magicians that performed that evening such names as Norm Nelson, The wild man and others whose names escape me.

However there was one who stood out among the others and his name was Richiardi.

Akin to Bella Lagosi he had the look of a vampire kind of like Dunnenger.

He wore traditional garb Tux and stuff and to me he just look like what a magician was suppose to look like.

But the above not withstanding Richiardi put on a show that to me has never been duplicated except by him in my life time.

I should mention that in the years that followed and the many times I saw him his show never changed.

That’s right he performed the same act his entire life. I think I would have went crazy.

The fact of the matter is that is why his show was so awesome.

The last time I saw him was at the Village Gate In New York a different venue to say the least.

Just tables and chairs in a room the size of a small restaurant. Big difference from the felt forum that seated 20,000.

I was so close I could touch the stage. During his performance of the broomstick illusion he flung the stool the girl stood on so fast and hard that I could hear it whip through the air only to be caught an inch from my nose by an assistant. I have no dought that had they been off even a millisecond I would not be here to tell the tail.

Anyway it was Richiardi and Marshal Borden Who made me want to be a magician and I thank them for it. Thank you.

Richiardi is the man that inspired me the most when it came to "how magic should be presented"... then again, he inspired me to move towards the darker side of presentation as well. One encounter with his Buzz Saw and I was hooked!

Well I wanted to wait a while before responding to se if anyone else but us Knew of Richiardi?

It looks like we are the only two and well I guess that makes us special because we have seen a Master at work and have something to inspire too.

Thank you kindred, hope to converse in greater detail at a later date.

Blimey - he must get his flash paper wholesale  !

He looks rather like a younger Bela Lugosi and it was nice to se Vincent Price again - such a wonderful voice, totally suited to the dark stuff!

He made it!

If I remember right Ed Marlo managed to get Bill Malone to help he and Carlos make a batch one weekend... Bill wouldn't shut up about the experience for a month...
