Hello all. I hope you are well.

My name is Gary, you can call me blackmahakala (or just black if that is a bit of a mouthful!). I live in Nottingham in the UK. I'm primarily interested in card magic.

I don't know if I'll post here or just silently peruse your offerings. It seems to me that some of you have difficulty with people who hold differing views and having no coherent, logical argument from which to proceed must resort to base insults. I find this discouraging given the fragile state of my ego!

Having said that, some of you appear to be eminently sensible.

So hopefully this will be the start of a long and fruitful relationship with fellow magicians worldwide rather than a long and painful relationship with fellow argument addicts.

I like.....ambitious cards, gaff cards, colour changes, lasagne, boards of canada, a good fight, playing african drums, jay sankey (in a never having met him kind of way), some ellusionist dvds, my friends.

I don't like...instant mash, oven chips and emoticons, although I am persuadable on the last one.

Hi and welcome!

In general, some of the responses you mention reflect the strong feelings we have about our art and, although some may be a little on the strong side at times, they are individual member's honestly held opinions. Anyone who joins TM and contributes will be more than welcome, even if they hold differing opinions, but the few who arrive just to take advantage, stir up controversy or be offensive will certainly be on the receiving end of a few appropriate words!

Don't be put off by any negative aspects you may have observed, the positive ones more than outweigh them!

Well I SO don't agree with you and everyone knows that I'm always right! Do you dare disagree with me you jumped up so and so

However I do agree with you on the instant mash and oven chips so perhaps I can forgive you.
