Found here; http://www.magicbox.uk.com/shop.php/sho ... p_481.html

For £8.99 this seems like an interesting purchase. Would anyone be so kind?

Regards,

Alex

I bought a tub just before Xmas and it was a big disapointment.

Takes an absolute age to work- definately a miss in my book

i disagree, had a tub a while and with the use of a TT and a bit of water you can make snow for the kids out of thin air

Then maybe I need to play with it some more but I have followed the instructions and even had the measuring jug out

It just seemed far too much trouble for such a little effect and it took the best part of 30 minutes for the recommended tea spoon and the 3 fl oz of water in a glass.

If you're after a smaller quantity, cheaper, to test out:

Exactly the same stuff.

Being fair, I've had some for ages, and never thought of a credible or realistic way to use it.

On a side note, it can be re-used by drying it out on a dry cotton cloth in the airing cupboard!

Like seige said it doesn't really have too many realistic uses although people i know who have found a suitable time to use it say its quite good stuff

I saw Paul Daniels do this on the Des & Mel Show ages ago - a TT of powder and a few drops of Evian was all he used and it worked fine. I tried the same thing and it didn't work at all but I guess I overdid the water or something.

Warm water is better. Plus, it must be said that different powders have different rates of expansion.

I actually got a tube of insta-snow from a local garden centre's 'gifts' department, and it's rapid-quick at expanding. However, a tub which I got yonks ago from a magic shop is really slow, but 'fluffs up' much bigger.

i think its in Twists and Trances by Kenton Knepper, there's an effect were you describe someone's holiday destination to them after you place them in a trance state...

they even feel what they describe to the audience, be it sand, water or whatever too...

obviously not for everyone...takes the right delivery and believability and so on...

however, it would be rather nice to have a little of this stuff (on hand) just incase you get lucky...

Ah, very logical - small bottle of Evian, hot TV studio lights etc would keep pre-heated water warm which is probably why the effect happened after only a few seconds when Paul did it. Our local Garden Centre is selling off their buckets of 'snow' at half price - must nip down there and see if there are any left!

Is this the same stuff that is seen being used with a fan to create snow in a stage-type show? I seem to remember Joe Pasquale finishing his 'audience with' TV show with it, coupled with a hefty amount of studio snow released from the rafters.
