Hello everyone

Postby wizius » Jan 12th, '07, 21:41

Hi,
I am Minh. I am a vietnamese, 24 years old (too old :( ). I am living the USA now. I have been in this country for 3 years so my english is still bad. I hope u don't care about this.

I am a newbie in this magic world. My first magic is rose levitation (here http://youtube.com/watch?v=6MzjebBFCmo). After i posted this, gunnarkr told me to come here and say hi to others.

I like some magics that clean and neat. Easy to get off after u done. Rose levitation is my very first magic. I performed it to a girl... And the reaction (+ seduction) was awesome lol. Well, you guys can figure out the rest. If i have time, i will post more video. I have been practicing for almost a month.

By the way, i am still a newbie in this whole magic thing. I probably need your advice.

Thank you.

Welcome Minh, you seem very eager to learn ( always a good thing ).
There are lots of very experienced people on this site ( who wish they were 24 ) with lots of advice to give.
Using magic for seduction, disgraceful, I've never heard of such a thing

Using magic for seduction is just one of the kind, Stevie. Its not what i want. I performed this to a girl because i wanted to test this magic, not on seduction purpose. I said that cuz i thought that was funny.

Ehemmm... I only suggested it :)
But I think it's the nice and proper thing to do.

I have good friends here in Iceland, that are from Vietnam. They came to Iceland as refugees, directly from a refugee camp, around 30 years ago and they have been a hard working family, saving up money to run their own oriental restaurant in the capital. They worked a lot... they succeded and at the end of last year, they sold the house where their restaurant is, to the town admins. for over $ 2,500,000 (around £ 1,300,000) and that is only the building, not the business. Now they will retire and enjoy life :) Everybody is so happy for them! Coming with empty hands and climbing to success.

Best greetings from Iceland!

Welcome to TM. If you want to do floating rose you have to try Kevin James floating rose! Of course as you might know David Copperfield has used Kevin James floating rose and given this effect his very own handling.

The full effect is that the magician takes a piece of (white) tissue and crumbles it into a little ball. It dances up and down the magicians arm, then the spectators arm. It is twisted into the shape of a rose and levitates! This is very magical since there is absolutely NO correlation between the movement of the rose and the magicians body(*).

Then after the paper rose has come into life it is lit and changes into a real rose that the magician can give to the spectator as a souvenir!

On http://www.kjmagic.com/catalog/videos/rose.html you can see part of it performed!

I may - at some later stage - add a very short review of Kevin James floating rose to the review section since one day you might want to do this version of the floating rose.

(*) The biggest weakness in your version is that the rose somehow follow the movements of your body. If I may ask, which version of floating rose do you use? Anyway if this is your first effect its pretty cool....

Magic is slight of mind!

I was going to say a friendly howdy and bid you welcome with a smile and a song (and possibly even the Monster Dance), but that comment made me cry, so I think I'll sunk instead.

At least your cocoa was hot.

By the time I'd shuffled over to the comfy armchair and found the shipping forecast on my wireless gramophone the bloody thing was stone cold. I wrote an angry letter about it to the free papers, but they won't get it for a week or two, as I have to walk all the way down the street to a post box.

Thats really cool but he did that with napkin rose. Real roses are more heavy than napkin roses. And Magician Wax hates real roses. They don't stick together lol.

Thank you for ur advice. I didnt use any version. I came up with my own because i didnt find any one use the real rose. Kevin James, David Copperfield only use napkin rose and there is always a helping lady next to them. I am trying something new to bring up the new version. I hope it will be more convince.
