Neodymium Magnets - help please!

Postby chriscross_3 » Jan 13th, '07, 16:31

Hello all!

I was considering purchasing some (very small) neo magnets to use with gimmicked matches, etc. but wanted to know whether or not they're any good.

I'm very much a beginner so I don't know whether they'll be suitable for me to use at this stage in my magic life! Another thing I'm slightly concerned about is the strength of the magnets. Obviously the whole point of them is that they're very strong, but surely this can be dangerous? I have heard that they can cause problems with electrical equipment, for example, but I'm unsure whether they can cause permanent damage to these sort of things.

And if it is deemed that I should get hold of some of these then are there any suggestions as to where I should get them from/which ones are the best (if there is any difference whatsoever).

Thank you all for your help.

Chris.

If your new to magic then no i wouldnt bother getting them. Learn the basics first get a good book or dvd of the type of magic you are interested in. So i have compiled a list of the best books in each catorgary:

Card magic: Either royal road to card magic or born to perform by ozz pearlmen

Coins: JB Bobos coin magic

Mentalism: 13 Steps to mentalism corinda

Thes can be purchased at most magic dealers

if you are still interested in the magnets thoe do a search or pm siege because he knows alot about them.
