perhaps we should all use our new names as our screen names

perhaps the mods may make the pimp concertor part of the sign up process and your screen name is automatically generated during the sign up.

my name is andy russell, any ideas!! 8) i have a few ideas but would be grteat to hear from anyone.

Whoa... on a random search of my name I find this thread. Cool.

Getting a name is a very serious venture. I went by John Bane Smooth: The Panty Raider / Jedi Shogun for years. When I first heard Smoothini the Ghetto Houdini, I knew that was the way to go. But it still took years before I had the confidence to actually use it. I have been told over and over by magicians that the name Smoothini is terrible. But when seeing the reactions of all the people I have performed for when I say Smoothini, the Ghetto Houdini..... I realized that it was good, even if others thought it was stupid. And when I saw that my name was written next to Dynamo's and Houdini's... dude, it felt pretty cool.

In another forum the name Stark Naked was given out, and I think it is gold! Take it before it gets taken.

Like a number of magicians, I'll be mostly using my real name, Steve Marvell. Having used aliases before (Storm ), I've found them quite embarrasing in later life and also found them hard to shake.

I'm just plain old, Becky Harris. I thought about something slightly more glitz when I did my business cards the other week but decided against it.

I was toying with the idea of calling myself "The Magician In Black" after Johnny Cash and obviously turning up dressed all in Black but thought it is either a great idea or a really bad one.

Johny Cash did always say "Hello, my name is Johnny Cash". The man in black was a media name.

I can't think of a single famous magician who doesn't have a name which could credibly be his real name, other than the last on the list below. I don't know that many names though.

On a related note, I asked people in the pub to "name a magician". I only got:

Paul Daniels
Derren Brown
David Copperfield
Houdinni
David Blaine
Penn & Teller
Paul Zenon
The Great Supprendo
