Home made tricks and gaffs.

Postby ranma1/2 » Jan 18th, '07, 07:43

I have always enjoyed making my own tricks and gaffs.

Does anyone have a good recomendation for a type of monofilament string or wires to use. Of course i want them to be invisible or as clost to it as possible.

Also does any one know where I can buy a 18mm or larger hole puncher?
Im using that just for a simple cigaret throught the card trick.

Also does anyone have any recomendations for a thin elastic string to put in between cards?

Regarding the monofilaments I have no clue, but I could suggest some great ones for fishing :D

Also try Hobbycraft stores as they stock a wide range of hole punches in various sizes and shapes, as well as repositionable glue and liquid latex for 'other' effects. In fact, those stores are an excellent source of small boxes, coloured card, envelopes etc for many magical routines.
(And some of the stores also do train sets, Scalextric and other fun stuff  !)

Check out my shop for IET...

The good quality one I sell can be separated into much finer filaments, and is ideal for the purpose you describe.

(Plug over ;))
