IT Hook up.

Postby vdave3000 » Jan 20th, '07, 01:17

Ok.. so your about to go out.. i dunno. maybe a Night club.. or a bar.. and do some tricks.. and u want to do the floating Money trick or even Hummer card. You dont want to bother about fiddling about preparing it at the gig.. so u prepare it before hand.. My question is.. if i was to hook up this trick before hand.. whats the best way to carry it about without snapping the String?

Once prepared, I carry each filament wrapped around an old playing card....I can put one in place, but have a pocket full of others ready to go at a moments notice:

As far as "wearing" a filiament, I put a safety pin on the inside of my jacket/shirt, and attach the filaments to it.......I put the pin just high enough that when the filament hangs, it is infront of my belt....attach the other end to the buckle, and set to go!

When I do snap one, I simply reattach the new anchor to the old one on the safety pin...........all of my coats have a well positioned safety pin in them!

I have also utilized (in some situations) a second safety pin at just above my belt line toward my hip....and attach the second end to it rather than my belt

PM if this doesn't make sense, I will give you a little better description if you need one.

Try looping it between two buttons on your shirt etc.

This may sound a little like OCD, but I have lengths of IT with wax at either end pinned to the wall of my office. When I want to go out prepared for a hookup, I do exactly as said above and carefully wind the IT round a playing card, anchoring it with the IT stops it getting tangled.

It's possible to hook yourself up in about 30 seconds, so a quick trip to a toilet or quiet spot usually does the trick.

With IET, such as loops, you can wear them around the neck or around the wrist. So long as you're not wrestling, they will stay in place.

depends on how you want to do it! try different lengths, from different position. My hook-up anchor it magic taped to the back of my neck(under my collar) rather than the 'traditional' positioning, as suggested in the hummer... i find tape is the best!
