I think you're talking about Lexan there.

May well be. I think that that is a trade name, it is available from many companies, Just need to make sure it is suitable for vac forming and it should work

:D You really are the original DIY magic man!

A few pence?

1 x Hot air gun: £19.99
1 x sheet MDF: £2
1 x sheet plastic, heat malleable: £3
1 x craft knife: £1
1 x hacksaw: £2
1 x pair of scissors: £1
1 x sheet sandpaper: 20p
Total project cost: £+++++

or

1 x Stainless steel card £6.20

Buying rather than making? Priceless

(sorry, just having fun!)

Its a very nice idea if you like building stuff and all that. But it seems a bit involved. And the metal ones can be engraved I spose the wooden ones can be carved......

I am master of misdirection, look over there.

We are not falling out young Welshy, we are debating, I think farlsy is an idiot he thinks I am one. We are just talking about who is the bigger idiot.

Interesting but impractical post, thanks!

I am too busy carving my new magic wand at the minute anyway. No really, I am.

Once you have the initial things you need (many of which i have anyway) its actually cheaper in the long run. You can stamp them with initials and designs too! I found some leather cigarette cases in the quid shop for the time being but im going to try this.

Thanks , glad you like the idea.

what I have done is to make them in different colours. \so the stripper is in blue. Short card in red etc.

The plastic that I use is about £2.00 a sheet and I get about ten from a sheet.

If you are a member of a magic club etc, get together and split the cost.

Impractical in that way. Well, for me at least anyway. I (unfortunately) don't own a hot air gun and so it would probably just be better for me to spend £6.20 and buy a stainless steel card case. But thanks anyway, it was an interesting read.
The irony of the whole thing is that I have no use for one anyway.

Thanks Jack

I assume that you are not a card man. :)

I mainly only use cards as part of mentalist work these days

I used to be, but not any more. Mainly pickpocketing and pure mentalism now- it's what I most enjoy. I'm sure I'll go back to cards and possibly coins sometime, but not at the moment. :D

OK, so I admit my 'Priceless' parody was over the top, and perhaps went over many heads.

I'm not sure a 1mm thick plastic clip has the benefits of a stainless steel one. The stainless ones not only protect the deck, but they're also sprung in order to keep cards flat.
