Hello from Hastings

Postby Justin Saul » Jan 24th, '07, 11:27

Greetings All!

My name is Justin, I'm 25 live in Hastings though my roots are in Brum. I've been interested in Magic since i was 8 when i stumbled across my first magic book in a charity shop. I have only recently rekindled my interest after watching lots of Derren Brown and reading his Tricks of the Mind book.
My personal interest is in Close-Up magic particularly Cards at the moment and I'm also very interested in learning some Mentalism (love that term).
I'm here to hopefully make some new friends and learn more about the Art i love.

Welcome to TM Justin.

If you interested in mentalism, have a look at Karl Fulves Self Working Mentalism book, there's some real gems in there.

Thanks for the advice 'Lady' on the Karl Fulves book, I'm in the process of bidding for it on ebay now. I love the 3 way test from Mark wilsons book as an effect, one of my pub favs.

It's not really an optical illusion - it just looks like one!

Hello Justin, in Hastings and welcome to TM.
It's actually amusing that some people think:
If you do card magic, you must be rigging the cards or something...
But if you do a mentalist act, hmmm... you might have some special gift.
With warm greetings from Iceland!
