hey everyone, hes my story!

18 years ago i was born, became interested in magic at the age of 5, mastering a fairly impressive ambitous card routine at the age of about 6 after going ot the magic section of hamleys and suprising one of the magicians there with wat i cud do at that age. i continued magic as a hobby until about the age of 10, when my interest gradually died out...

i then became into breakdancing(yes i no, big difference)! i trained weekly and entered a few shows and competitions. then after the public displays of magic by recent magicians, namely david blaine, and one hugely impressive, funny, and just wonderfully entertaining guy in covent garden(think he said his name was Gary, could be wrong though), my interest instantly developed again. i mastered some new sleights, a few routines( two card monte, ambitious card routine and a few transposition effect( which happen to be my favourite type) ) and began performing magic to friend, family people at bars, and for my own pleasure, poker opponents haha!

my style of magic could be described as "practical". i stay away from rabbits, top hats, magic wands and sponge balls, i try to stay equipped with just cards, and i like to make my magic appear like it is "spur of the moment".

other then that, im your average college student, enjoying life, blessed with this wonderful hobby, hoping to take it further! thanks for reading, introduce yourselves if you fancy, would like to meet some other people ont he magic scene. cheers

Hello Absolute and welcome to TM!
You seem to be an impromptu-kind-of-guy. It sounds great :)
Hope you enjoy yourself around here.

y thanku! and yess gunnarkr, impromptu is probobly the best word to suit me! my "papernapkin" routine as a substitue for sponge balls demonstrates that!

so now im 18, i was thinking about joining the magic circle( or attempting to at least), what skill level do you need to be at, how do you apply, etc?

thanks

It's not really an optical illusion - it just looks like one!
