I've got a picture of me that I quite like and would love to use it as my little pic on the left of all messages only problem is that I'm useless with computers these days (god i feel old now i've said that)

Can anyone easily explain how I can make my nice pic go over there on the left?

Unfortunately if this does get answered you will all have to put up with seeing my ugly mug on your screens

Load it into a graphics program and resize it to 80x80. Once you've done that, click on profile at the top of the screen, from there you can upload your picture.

That would be your Avatar - an image or other pictorial file. The basic idea is to go into your Profile and scroll down to the part about attaching avatars, Browse until you find where your picture is located on your machine and then upload it. If the file size is too large you'll get an error message and you'll have to decrease the file size by editing in an image editing program.

OK, as you can see I did it. (Paul now takes a bow to the amazing applause) but I look kinda blocky! Did I do wrong?
