anyway, back to the question - its all about suspension of belief isnt it, to enjoy certain films, we suspend reality..if its an especially good film, it makes us question our reality and maybe try and accept another version of what is real...

in that certain magic/film/art/books can prompt you to question your own beliefs, books in particular can open completely new paths for your mind and spirit to travel if you choose to go along with it...

Based on the original question, ' Are all deceptions bad?' as deception of the nicest kind is necessary for magic to work in many cases, the answer has to be 'No, not all deceptions are bad'. Other deceptions certainly may be but not the ones used by us in the proper pursuit of our art. Sorted !
