most pk rings are a set size per strength rating due to the need for apropiate capcity if that makes sense.

rings that have a capcity added to them can be resized or sized to order but tend to be a lot more expensive than mass produced items, i know this dosn't help much.

Jewellers shops sell transparent 'liners' which help to make a large ring fit smaller diameter fingers so you might be able to get one of those locally.

:) I would think that if you are going to invest in something you are UNSURE of and really need it for work, than go to the dealer who stocks it and check it out, even if it means a long trip. Do this after contacting the dealer first to enquire about the item. Most of our dealers would advise you I'm sure though not give away the method if that happened to be your query!
Couldn't you ask at a Convention.?

So anyone who wants a ring to fit:
Go to a jeweller's, explain that you have to buy a 'special ring' for a magic trick but don't know your ring size. They are usually friendly and he should try out your size for you
After all you may be a future customer.
At one time the ring catalogue people used to issue a cardboard ring sizer. Search around.

:) Chris. Another idea did occur to me.
Will the small version of PK Ring fit ANY of your fingers?
We tend to think of a ring being worn on the third or little finger but these days many folk have gone back to the mediaeval way and use a ring on the first finger or even the thumb.
So with today's fashion it wouldn't look out of place.

It does fit my forefinger I believe, though it feels so unnatural that I would not be able to wear it on anythig other than my third "ring" finger. I'm going to try a small again soon. Maybe my finer has grown in the last 6 months :P

ill keep you posted ;)

Just to run by you some of the things that popped in my head when reading your post (but i didnt read the reply posts so sorry if im repeating)

First off,
If you are really willing ot spend some money i HAVE come across custom PK rings somewhere online.
Also,
At the mall near me, it costs $20-25 USD to get a ring resized.
Lastly,
I also read about some girl getting a PK ring and it being too big so they wrapped a rubber band around their finger and few times and then put it on over it. She said it worked perfectly and that no one could see it because it was hidden under.

Good luck!

The rubber band idea is a good one, unfortunately it's risky trying to resize PK Rings as the material they're made from is less flexible than gold or silver rings and could easily break.

How about trying eating lots of doughnuts, pizza and fry ups? It should after an extended period fatten your fingers up. The major set back is that you may get diabetes and heart disease.
Other than that I think the rubber band or the transparent ring filler things are your best bet.
I must admit I recently got a pk ring and have had to send it back as the large size was too big. I am now waiting for the medium size and am cutting down on the doughnuts, pizza and fry ups.....I hate salad and am now hungry

hehe - I spome to me seige and he said you cant get a pk ring re-sized. and I dont really want filler or a rubber band as I want to be able to use it for such things as the insanity ladder followed by a ring on...not good with a load of paste on your finger :P

:) Chris. Another way which occurs to me is again obtainable at a good jewellers.
My wife's uncle, who was in Theatre for many years in the 20's, 30', 40's left me an Edwardian gentleman's finger ring which is worn on the little finger. It has a wopping big diamond in it but the ring is a little large.
I was told, and did see one such, to go to a jeweller's and get him to fit a spring clip. This is a small half band with spring which fits inside the ring and because of the spring keeps it safe from slipping off.
I haven't yet done this but have been content to simply wind a narrow band of flesh coloured 'sticking plaster' round it.
I have some of the plastic ring things but they are cumbersome & look like bits cut off transparent plastic tubing.

that does seem a good idea, yet I'm not sure that it would be practical with me. The problem being, that I need the inside fill of the ring to be completely smooth, and with the spring clip in I'm not sure that ring on's, the gryphon rolol, and the insanity ladder would be much use with it in :(

hehe - im trying to kill two birds...get a manipulation band ring, that i can use for magic as well ;)

you may be able to use deture compound which is used in instrument repair for clarinet mouth pieces to add a band to the inside of your ring and build it up that way, think layers of nail varnish.

Blacksmagicgroup.com sell pk rings in just about all ring sizes including half sizes, and they are supposed to be the most powerfull on the market - just waiting for mine so i cant confirm that.
btw you cant resize a pk ring easily as they are not made from metal
