Trouble palming coins?

Postby Lady of Mystery » Feb 6th, '07, 15:50

I've just discovered a fantastic little substance to help with coin palming.

Had a babybel in my lunch and was playing around with the outer wax stuff, making cubes and balls and things like that, as we all do. :D

Anyway, I put the wax down after rolling a ball out of it and picked up my coins, putting them into the palm. They held brilliantly, much better than I usually do. After thining about it, I wondered if it was the wax on my hands helping, so went to the toilet, washed and dried my hands and tried palming again. Not as good this time. So I rolled the wax in my hands again and the palming improved straight away.

So to any of you having trouble holding a coin in the palm, grab a babybel and see how you get on. :D

Does one need to actually eat the babybel cheese?

Quite a serendipidous find there Lady of Mystery I might give this a try out.

Good suggestion!

A similar thing can be done when practicing coin rolls... by rubbing a very gentle layer of beeswax applied with a polishing cloth to the backs of your fingers.

I guess it's a similar thing!

I realised the reason why coins are prone to slip out of classic palm is because my hands are quite dry.. not dry as in I have a problem but because I always keepmy hands clean and theres not much natural moisture in them

That idea sounds good. Any other kinds of cheeses / I mean creams work well for coin manipulations??

Sortkwik
Chamberlain Golden Touch Lotion
Drinking a lot of water every day helps also

Nice find, I must try that.
Also, on a similar note, I was introduced to the amusingly named gorilla snot the other day at a local circle meet. Good and sticky, just the thing for coin work if your all out of baby bel.

not a fan of sigs, so I won't bother adding o..... oh

Personally, I prefer moisturiser to cheesy wax :)

my problem is similar since my condition kicked in with a vengence my hands have developed a shiny look to the palms and fingers which I'm told is similar to the thickening you get on your feet, the tops remain nice and soft, moisturisers no longer help, maybey i'll have to go for a chemical peel.

The cheese smell isn't that bad, honest. :?

I guess that you could use candle wax or as Seige mentioned, bees wax.
