Can someone recommend a last-minute sucker routine?

Postby pcwells » Feb 9th, '07, 13:27

I'm doing a kid's show tomorrow (my first in almost twenty years), and the die box that just arrived in the post is utter poo. I simply can't use it. It's not even a die box - in reality, it's a 'what-the-heck-is-that-meaningless-metal-block box'.

So my act is without a decent sucker routine and I'm out of time (and money) to buy more gear.

Can anyone recommend a replacement that I can construct on the hurry-up from silks or other assorted nicknacks? I should point out that this is a show for six-year-olds, so the old 'signed cigarette to whisky bottle' routine might not be appropriate.

I'm not looking for chapter, verse and method - just some clarity and focus as to which book to start looking in first.

Thanks in advance,

Pete

hey chad,

for some easy to build, last minute props I would consult Mark Wilsons Encyclopedia. Nough said!

Hope you find what youre looking for,

Look up "Chico the chimp" The method is obvious, but kids love it....in a pinch you could easily produce the gimmicks with about an hour of arts and crafts.....I use this all the time in kids show, but have made my own various versions to suit the time.....I use a Santa at Christmas, a Bunny at Easter, and a Pumpkin at hallloween.
