I'm no expert in web design, but I did not want to pay out loads of money for someone to make a flash website for me. I came across this site the other day http://www.templatesbox.com/. They offer some good free website templates, flash and html.

Avoid all-flash sites like the plague.

A bit of flash is OK, but don't use them for navigation or links if you can help it.

HTML is much more universal, and will do much better with search engines too

Well I have put both HTML and flash up on my website. so you have a choice, so it should be ok in the search engines.

The trouble is, your HOME page lacks any 'magical' keyword content.

As it's what is known as a 'splash' page, search engines may not look any further.

Splash pages, even ones which are 'portals' to the two sides of your site have been mainly outlawed by web designers for some years now.

If you really want to score with search engines, have this:

as your first 'index' page, and put the flash link on there.

That's very good advice. It's all too easy to have a brilliant website which looks great, but if you can't get hits then it's pointless. Definately worth doing what Seige suggested.

ok thanks for the advice, I will do something when I get a chance.

edit: ok sorted it, put all the text from my site on the splash page. It is all in black and set at 1pt so you can't see it.
