Just a few words....

Postby Lady of Mystery » Feb 13th, '07, 12:29

I'll pop this post here as I don't want to be accused of trying to hijack another thread.

I'm just trying to have a little fun, I'm not trying to hijack threads or be counter productive. I try to be constructive and helpful to everyone but from time to time I might put in the odd silly post. If people feel that's inappropriate then I'd appreciate a quiet PM, rather than get sniped at in an open thread.

If you not like my posts than I'd appreaciate it if you either don't respond or drop me a friendly PM.

As my gran always used to say 'If you haven't got anything nice to say, don't say anything at all'

I'm not going to appologise for my posts, I'm just being me and that's the way I am.

Well, I for one think your posts are lovely.

EDIT: Sometimes a joke falls flat, but, as they say in stand up comedy, you have to learn how to die before you can learn how to live.

May I be the first to issue a Hoorah!

I think that posts of a humorous nature is always welcome in my opinion. As long as the issue of the first post is addressed at some point then isn't that the point.
I think the light hearted nature combined with knowledge gained and shared in this forum is the reason why I visit so frequently and will continue to.
I say be yourself and continue to inform and entertain!

I would but my knowledge is sparse and my humour badly off. Still at least I can do the best car horn noise ever with my voice.....so there!

i think people should be as serious as possible as all times, make no attempt to portray their own personalities, and only talk in clipped bullet points and never ever stray from the pertinent point(s) in question...

with knowledge, comes great smugness young jedis...

Thanks everyone, I'm feeling a bit pinker and slightly more fluffy now :)

I shouldn't let things get to me.

what you said Lady of Mystery is very true

I think what you have said sound very fear to me no one as got the right to put anyone down and you have got your right to have a say and if anyone not happy with that they should drop you privet message . I do not think anyone has got the right to say any think nasty about someone or some think they should tell you in a privet message so that you know not so every one else can see what they have said nasty. we are all here to have fun and get on with eachother not here to put others down keep yours heads up with a smile :)

good luck all

I actually remember the phrase as:
"If you've got nothing to say, don't"

Yes, your posts are humourous at times, but it seems you're trying to live up to your TM award and hijack where possible.

Perhaps now and then actually 'talking magic' would help.

Nobody is sniping at you, but if you decide to hijack or have fun in the public areas, then expect REPLIES in the public areas.

...to be fair though, what siege has said applies to a fair few people on here (including me)...and probably everyone at some point...

so let's all remember that we all slip from time to time and we've all suffered from eagerness when we first join these kind of places eh...

anyway, as i was saying, about these giraffes of mine...

I don't mind the odd silly post, but it seems a bit inappropriate on the first reply when the thread is still fresh. Maybe you should consider putting the 'comedy' post in a PM to the thread author.

Well, in that case, I'm not going to appologise for my replies. :!:

I'm pretty sure I post alot more magic related posts than I do others, I would go through and count but I've got better things to do. And just for the record, I'm currently working on my MT myself and would have been more happy to add some input of my own.

I'm not trying to hijack any threads, any attempt at a humourous post is usually just a single post and very rarely pulls the thread off topic (I know I have done that sometimes, but not often).

There's never any need to snipe at people on a public thread, wether it be me or another member, it happens way too often and I think it's very sad to see.

If people couldn't accept a little bit of fun, even in a serious conversation the world would be a very sad place.

You've obviously not met a bank manager, traffic warden, or tax man yet then ;)

That would have been (and still will be) most appreciated.

i knew someone who was a traffic warden, gave it up...only to get a new job collecting taxes...

absolute glutton for punishment, and i always said he was the most soulless man i knew...im sure you have to trade it in when you join up for those kinda jobs...

it was strange though, when i was a youth at college, we used to design mini stained glass windows together...wierd how he went completely off any kind of creative work...

A bit of misunderstanding and even falling out is almost inevitable when dealing with the artistic and creative personality which is inherent in talented members. Having said that, rather than see this one go downhill, how about we draw the line and move on to something else?
