4. making something big out of something simple

6. nailing a challenge

10. new things in the post

I hate myself for posting this now, but it seems such a waste to not press that Submit button.

1. Pulling off a trick that I'm sure I messed up and discovering something new that might be useful to adapt to the handling in the future
2. spectators who are in a good mood
3. A well executed classic trick like the linking ring for example
4. finding a window of opportunity to perform magic
5. Not performing when asked to perform(not paid, of course)

ah now this is a better thread

I love....

Making someone smile or laugh
Learning new things and discovering new approaches to things in magic and life
Performing for and entertaining people
The feeling when a new sleight or trick finally clicks
The feeling I get when a spec pats me on the back and say 'thanks Becky, I really enjoyed that'
Helping people less fortunate than myself
Sunny days on the beach
Those crisp spring mornings
Being woken up by sun streaming through the windows and birds singing
Walks in the hills
Watching the sunset with that special someone
A nice warm bubble bath
A day of pampering in the spa
Bumping into old friends I've not seen for years or making new friends
Knowing that I have people who care about me
Having people to care about

and best of all...... My boyfriend Image

A good bottle of wine
Waking up on a Sunday with no chores
Getting home from work early
Meeting people who make you laugh
The faces of children on Xmas day
The smell of bread cooking
Magic which gives me the 'initial buzz' all over again
Reading a good book and being left wondering at the end
Freshly ground coffee
Making people happy
The look on my wifes' face when she looks through our wedding album
The smell and ambiance when you first step off a plane in a foreign country
A strong cassoulet
Computer programs which do what they are supposed to

1. My books...magic and non-magic. I'm enjoying reading a couple of Richard Dawkins books at the moment, and I would recommend them to anyone.

2. Waking up on saturday morning...thinking its a week day...and then realising you don't have to go into work...and then pulling the duvet back up and going back to sleep...that is until the dogs come in and start licking your eyeballs!!!

3.
4. making something big out of something simple

Couldn't agree more. Parts of the 'something wicked this way comes' show is a good example.

4. A nice big mug of tea

5. A good argument with an intelligent person, who feels passionate about soemthing which you don't agree with, but then being able to go out for a drink afterwards.

6. That lightbulb over your head moment when you have that rush of inspiration for a new effect.

7. Having a fantastic idea for an effect, which has yet to have a solution.

Having just enough of the good stuff and not enough of the bad stuff in life.
Picking up friends when they hit the deck.
Activities that procure ruin.
But most of all, my teddy.

Are you not sick of bats, eyes and spider yet? I only got through three.

I read a lot about evolution and got equally sick of nematodes, zebra fish and fruit flies in the academic texts.

I am reading 'the Devil's Chaplain' at the moment, which is fascinating, and on a wide range of subjects from religion to the downfalls of trial be jury. So I haven't yet been bogged down by any of that.
Previously I read 'The God Delusion' which is a book that everyone should read. Though I don't feel that those that would benefit from reading, will actually be brave enough to read it with an open mind.

Unfortunately, Dawkins is notoriously one sided, so it's difficult to have an open mind.

But doesn't his opinion have more substance as it is based on scientific methodology, research, and factual information, rather than wishful thinking?
I haven't read any of his more academic works which you may have done, so I may not know the whole picture, but I have his arguments have a clarity and persuasiveness to them.
