Paperclipped In the specs hands

Postby The dean » Feb 8th, '07, 18:47

I would love to here some thoughts on this. I have been working with Jay sankeys paperclipped and i have come up with a way were the card and paperclip never leave the specs hand but for a split second. when routined right the spec never even notices you touched the card. Any thoughts.

Could you describe the effect without giving away the method and tell us why you think this adds value to Sankey's handling.

all right that works. THe main difference between this and Jay sankeys handling is when you pull the paperclipped card out of your pocket instead of setting it on the table you hand it to the spectator and have the hold on to it in whatever manner they like. You then proceed to have them take a card out of the deck and sign it, (Usually with one hand due to the fact they are holding the paperclipped card) the card is lost in the deck. The preformer then says, "now i want you to remove, you know what i'll do it." then the preformer casually reaches over and plucks off the paperclip. then the spec can unfold it and it is there card. what do you think.

have you refined the move then? Or do you do it the same way but very smoothly?

Incidentally you can see a massive amount of improvement in Sankey's own handling since he released Paperclipped. The original trailer for that features him doing the move in a very covered kind of way, smoothly enough but it still looks a bit like something's going on. Fast forward to the preview for The Real Work and he does it 100 times better.

Basically what he is saying is that rather than putting the paperclipped card on the table he putsit inthe specs hands -- everything else is the same. I suppose that because the spec is given the paperclipped card before he signs another.. he knows that there can be no switch.

The handling and the essence of the effect are EXACTLY the same

I have come up with a version of paperclipped that is quite different in effect and method and that has a killer ending.. check out the top secret area for more details..

Very tempting!!!

There are, of course, complications. I would need to get some permission from a very kind fellow. I just bothered him about a week ago and don’t want to be a major pest. I sent an email to Jay inquiring about how much time I have before it would be too late to submit. We’ll see what happens…

In the meantime, you can find the move (and many more) elsewhere :)
