my cousin was going to buy one recently and I noticed the update. As far as I could see, the more recent book has the same or similar information as the original but with some more modern additions.

Afraid I haven't read the newer book though so I can't be any clearer than that. I did ask a while back here if anyone knew the differences but didn't hear back. Maybe someone has since read it and can help you further.

not a fan of sigs, so I won't bother adding o..... oh

Get the latest edition and while you're there get the Magic Makers dvd too. It's impossible to rate it highly enough.

If your interested... search for Bobo community project online and see a few videos of the moves mentioned in the book..not a bad site! (They ask one question from his book to be able to access the site)

The newer additon is better. I have an original hardback, and to be honest there hasn't been just a whole lot updated. Bobo has been dead quite a few years. I'd agree with the others, I have the Magic Makers DVD, and it does a pretty good job of showing moves which can be confusing to learn from the book. There were a few in the original text that I own that I never figured out until someone showed me, or when I lived in North East Texas and had to opportunity to go see Bobo at his home in Texarkana and he was kind enough to show me the moves. Books can be difficult to learn from at times. The video will make life with Bobo's modern coin magic much easier.

Have a look here for a comparison of "Modern Coin Magic" (Dover paperback) and "New Modern Coin Magic" (hardback).

The original is also now available as a free E-book at The Learned Pig.

I got confused about this too, what with the Modern and New Modern versions with differnt editions and different hard bound content.

Is there a definitive answer as to which is most complete?

The definitive answer:

"The New Modern Coin Magic" has everything that the original contained with additional material.

Suggested: Get "The New Modern Coin Magic."

No names, no pack drill, but I had a PM not too long ago from someone who wanted to know if the older version of Bobo was only suitable for use with pre-decimal UK coinage  .
