Flash Paper & Blackpool

Postby king_of_keighley » Feb 12th, '07, 19:07

I apologise first of all if this has been mentioned before. I also apologise if it is in the wrong place. Moderators feel free to (metaphorically) kick my ass if needed.

Anyhow, i was at Blackpool last year and a stall which was trading in the horse-shoe had an accident with flash paper in which someone got burned. Now, i don't think it was too serious but i heard that flash paper will not be traded at Blackpool.

Does anybody know if they have actually enforced this??

Thanks

and does anyone know where we can find video of the legendary flash?

i wouldn't have thought they'd stop people selling flash things, there are well known dangers for having mass amounts of the stuff. perhaps an extra word of caution or 2. but i'd hate to think i couldn't buy some there
...or we could just walk to coopers

Custom R&S decks made to specification - PM me for details

Well er... try the cctv at Sheffield's Early Learning Centre, if you're lucky they've probably still got video of me stuffing my pockets full of plastic wildebeest when I thought no-one was looking...

oh I see what you mean... THAT legendary Flash

They didn't have any Flash paper in the International Magic Conference in London last November. I know it was requested and Martin at International Magic was going to try to get some to fill this order, but didn't manage to.

We might be lucky, courtesy of www.magicweek.co.uk:
Illusioncraft have created a special 90 gram flash paper that is printable with specialist inks after many years of experimentation and development. "We will be launching several new magic tricks at the Blackpool Convention... 'Reveal' - flash playing cards you have to see to believe and the 'Hot Cheques' the world's first flash cheque book made to look like a Swiss cheque book for worldwide compatibility, along with refills that can be custom printed with your name on them! Come and see us in the Arena at Blackpool, but don’t delay, as stocks will be very limited due to the number of effects that we are releasing."

i was standing 5ft away from the flash paper when it went up!!! We have been told we can only take flash paper in small sealed amounts to blackpool. the rest must be kept away and wet packed.
