HUUUUUUUUUGGELY EMBARASSING!!!

Postby lindz » Feb 12th, '07, 22:32

   Right now ive been here six months and reliased i have never made an introduction. I was just looking through my old posts and couldnt find it. I always presumed i had done one but obviously not. So i apologise to all the mods and everyone on TM. Whats so ironic is ive read them blimen rules about 50 times when im bored and theres no posts i always go on to read them but i obviously didnt read them at the begining. So to all the newcomers who see this its a good idea to read the rules. So for my 401 post here it is: Im from Rochester in Kent and im 24. My background in magic is that i used to love magic as a child and had all the sets like most people. I used to watch paul daniels and all the shows but when i hit my teenage years someone told me about girls so the magic fizzled out {what a bad mistake that was i would have been better off sticking with the magic}. Then about six years ago i started to get interested again but it become clear about 2 years ago that i wanted it as more than a hobby so i started practising at every possible chance. Last year in january i quit my job as a printer so i could spend all day practising. So all last year for 7 days a week from 9-6 ive been sitting in my office {well the other side of my front room on the computer chair} practising and since august posting on here. Ive recently turned professional but i was doing free jobs all last year for friends. I actually like all types of magic and mrs lindz says i dont stop talking about it all day { i think thats a slight exageration as i dont talk about it when im asleep i just dream about it}. I have two children and one due in april so that means it was concieved the same month i joined TM i think it must be a sign and ive enjoyed every minute of the six months ive been here and i hope ill be welcome for another 10 years and once again i would like to apologise to everyone on TM for my big boo boo.

We were thinking of starting a thread to debate why you hadn't introduced yourself yet

How are you finding being a proffesional magician? I only ask because it's a path I nearly took a couple of years ago when I was unemployed. A good secure job (regular wage, pension, etc) came along, and after being having a bad year, and being knocked on my backside, I opted for some security. I like my job, but I can't imagine it matches doing what your passionate about, and getting paid for it. With being a relative new guy to the proffesional scene, do you find there is enough work to pay for bills, babies etc...
Anyway, good luck with it all. I envy you doing what you love as a career.

Lindz? Who's that?

Oh! 'Tis you!

Mate, I think you basically skipped your intro and got right down to being a member—which is great! Intro's aren't necessary, but it's nice to know who you're talking to!

And PS... you don't look old enough to have two kids! You are a youthful looking dude! (and you remind me of the guy from American Pie!)

Nice intro, and you're always welcome.

Im finding it amazing at the moment but ive only done a few jobs paid for because ive only been working through word of mouth so far but at the end of the next week im going to be busy going around places handing out my business cards and stuff so im hoping it will take off properley by the end of the year when i sort a bit of advertising out.

Cheers siege i dont think i am old enough to have two kids . When i got with my girlfriend she already had a child and when we reliased we were going to be together i decided to take him on but i also wanted to have kids of my own so we decided to have them and get it all over and done with because neither of us want to be bringing up young kids for the rest of our lives and also we didnt want to have kids who had a big age difference so we had the second one and now we have the third on its way and then were done no more. Please not the american pie guy i have had that for the last six years.
