Myself and Markdini were discussing the idea recently of having some kind of TM meet up, probably in London of a weekend or something. That's about the long and the short of what we thrashed out (we both live in or near London so for purely selfish reasons it makes sense to meet there!) and I thought I'd throw it out for general opinion.

So, who fancies getting together one Saturday afternoon in the smoke and having a beer and some general random magical frivolity?

P.S. I know you're not supposed to meet strangers from the net in person but what the heck, what's the worst that can happen?!

worth a go ey? i think the idea of people meeting at blackpool tomorrow is a bit more sensible. but only for those going of course.
i myself probably wont go to a london meet but if there's one in Leeds i could be convinced.
I hope this all goes better than my weekly Wakefield TM meet ups which we generally just me sat in a pub with a pint and a deck of cards.

It's certainly true that a lot of people wouldn't be able to get to London, however I reckon enough of us are within striking distance to make it worthwhile.

If it works out the franchise could easily be extended to the grim north, where the hardier of our members reside!

There were a few of us thinking of meeting up on 6th March....Well I say that but it hasn't been confirmed yet.

Ah silly me I didn't notice that. OK then everyone that reads this please redirect your attention to the already existing thread, should be fun.

Or we could have a meet-up in South Shields sometime mid March.

Absolutely! A night in Walkabout wouldnt go much amiss! Especially being magicians and its what we do!

My only problem is the weekend thing! If we could arrange something in the week, i could do it, wherever we went, but i work weekends

It seems the London meet up thread has been deleted after the idiotic spamfest that happened last night.

It was more than likely Tuesday the 6th, although Monday the 5th was also touted as a possible date. Any chance of the 5th?
The following Tuesday and Thursday were also mentioned as possibilities which I can also make it to.

The Tuesday is a club night, and as performing that week cannot really get out of it.

We had ear marked it for the tuesday 6th but I'm not doing anything on the Monday.
The other thread seems to have vanished due to a spam-fest ? I tell you I go away for 3 days and it all goes to pot!

We also need to decide upon a venue. I was going to suggest the Ben Crouch Tavern which is smack bang in the centre of town (wells road off Oxford Street) but if anyone has any other ideas???

Best of luck guys, if you have only half the fun we had in Blackpool then we'll have had twice the fun you'll have. Or something like that .

Anyway, as last weekend showed, it's well worth pushing towards a meeting if possible because not only will you be able to put faces to names, you can chuck ideas around, work in with suggestions and ideas and enjoy your magic even more.
